Popularity

Two measures are used to define how do blogs become popular. The first one is poularity through blogroll and the other is popularity through citations. Trackbacks can make blog popular very easy and fast, while it takes time to become pipular through blogrolls. Also big number of permalinks means that people actually read this blog and find it interesting.

Severeal researches on blogs popularity were carrieв out during last ten years. Blogdex project by the MIT Media Lab had to aggreagate information from thousands of blogs on the web and research its social properties. In spite of the fact, that project was closed, www.tailrank.com has similar function nowadays.

By August 2006 the most linked-on blog was Xu Jinglei - Chinese actress - blog (by Technorati information). And the Boing Boing blog was rates as the most-reaв blog. Boing Boing is written by the group of authors and comprises  a few different projects loke Boing Boing TV.
